I have been involved in digital media in Brighton for 20 years right from the beginning of the Internet and website design and seen many changes throughout this time in the way sites are designed – from basic HTML code through to systems like WordPress.
I have worked in a number of roles within digital media along the way – from project manager on numerous web and digital projects, adult learning college tutor for Microsoft and Adobe software, e-learning content integrator using Storyline, GOMO and Coursebuilder, through to WordPress web developer / website design and production which is now what I mainly specialise in.
I believe wearing all these different hats gives me a unique advantage and an understanding of clients needs and how this can be achieved from a development point of view.
I come from a classical music background – I have played the clarinet since I was 10 and I graduated from Southampton University in 1990 with a BA Hons in Music. I have played in a number of orchestras and ensembles over the years and done part time clarinet teaching. On the classical front I have played in the Midsussex Sinfonia, Sussex Symphony Orchestra and COMA. On the contemporary/pop music side I have played keyboards and clarinet in Oddfellows Casino (folky electronica) and The Brighton Film Quartet for the past 6 years. On the electronic side of music I have started writing music to short films in order to perform the set live with improvisation – the full album is here Emma Papper – Sounds in Space And I am also currently ressurecting a project I was in 20 years ago with the original members called The Spacehorns – I like my music!
